At Ross Hammock Ranch you will have a true fair chase hunt for native or exotic wildlife on our large private ranch with 10+ miles of border, fish the awesome saltwater flats of the Gulf of Mexico, fish the pristine local freshwater lakes and rivers, or capture that perfect picture or video on a photo safari/eco-tour.

Hunting at Ross Hammock Ranch: RHR offers guided fair-chase hunting on its 1500 acre private hunting ranch. The ranch has approximately 12 miles of border! It is approximately 50% food plots, cut-overs and planted pine forest and 50% hardwood hammock. It combines forest land and natural vegetation, with supplemental food plots/game feeders to maintain and grow trophy wildlife. This environment makes for a challenging hunt and a harvested trophy you can truly be proud of. Hunting at RHR is done via tree stands and/or spot and stalk methods. Bay Dogs are available with prior request on Trophy Boar Hunts. RHR offers hunting via archery, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, or pistol for the following species:

Whitetail Deer: RHR has selected certain genetically superior whitetails from Texas, Minnesota, Canada, Iowa, and Oklahoma (scoring over 185 B&C) and introduced them with the native Florida Whitetail population to offer you the opportunity to harvest a Record Book Whitetail Buck.

Red Deer: These deer, native to Europe, now roam RHR . Stags are much larger than Whitetail Bucks, growing as large as 500+ pounds and sporting antlers similar to the Elk. The genetics of the Red Deer at RHR are linked to top world class bloodlines.

Axis Deer: These deer, native to India, are said by many to be the most beautiful deer in the world, and their meat, the tastiest. They grow large racks (30″ plus), and maintain their white spots throughout their life. RHR researched Axis herds across North America to offer some of the finest animals available anywhere.

Fallow Deer: These beautiful deer, that occur in three different color phases and grow upwards of 200 pounds, are native to the Mediterranean region of southern Europe. They are easily distinguished by their large unique “Palmated” antlers.

Elk: Elk were once native to Florida and roamed freely across the State. RHR has located and re-introduced some absolutely massive Elk bulls and cows, which now breed naturally at RHR. The bulls are breathtaking, with mature animals scoring between 300 and 350+. The Elk cows have been selectively bred, prior to release into with a 400 class bull. The Elk trophy of a life time can be taken at RHR .

Indian Blackbuck Antelope: The Blackbuck gets its name because of the black coat assumed by mature dominant males. Males grow ringed, corkscrew horns over 20 inches in length that result in a beautiful mount. These impressive animals are also well known for the quality of their meat.

Sika Deer : Sika is the Japenese word for “deer”. Sika deer are found native to various countries including Japan, China, and Manchuria. The trophy Sika Bucks found at RHR have stout, upright antlers of a 4×4 or better configuration, and may exceed 200 pounds in weight, giving the appearance of a small Elk. Sika can be aggressive in nature and are good eating as the meat is more juicy than that of other exotic deer species.

Water Buffalo: Water Buffalo originate in Asia but adapt readily to the hot and wet Florida climate. Water Buffalo often look very similar to the African Cape Buffalo. They may exceed 1 ton in mass weight and are terrific table fare.

Wild Boar: Historians believe that Hernando de Soto originally brought the Spanish Wild Boar into Florida in the early 1500’s. Since that time, they have reproduced and thrived in the rich habitat of RHR. Now, RHR offers trophy Wild Boar hunts as well as meat/BBQ hog hunts that are very exciting!

Osceola Turkey : A very large native population of Osceola Turkeys thrive at RHR. Turkey hunters know that the Osceola Turkey is a prized harvest because of it’s limited range and incredible eyesight. Many hunters take their first ever Osceola Turkey at RHR. You can too!

Rams: RHR offers several species of rams including Texas Dall, Sand Dall, Black Hawaiian, Mouflon, etc.

4 Horn Ram: Also known as the Jacobs Ram, may be taken at Ross Hammock Ranch.

Scimitar Horned Oryx: This beautiful and rare member of the antelope family may be hunted year round at Ross Hammock Ranch. They are large in stature, and excellent eating.

Exotic Mountain Goat: Various species of exotic Mountain Goat may be hunted at Ross Hammock Ranch.

African Species: If you would like to hunt African Game, but do not want to endure the long plane ride, you can do so at RHR in Florida. Typical species hunted include Zebra, Impala, Eland, Gemsbok, etc…. Call us to discuss your specific desires.
